No damage, no loss, and most importantly, no downtime.
Transition is an important time in any business, and you’ve got a lot of things to weigh up.
Location, size, and what to do with all your current assets?
The pandemic proved a trying time for lots of businesses, and we found ourselves helping a lot of companies find solutions to issues they didn’t expect, so we thought it would be good to highlight some lessons learned.
Figure out what’s important
Moving is a good time to reflect, and think ‘do I really need to be hauling that entire closet of old power adapters with us?’ This is a good time to figure out what’s in active use, what can be stored, and what needs to get thrown away.
Efficient use of space
Space is at a premium, so does it really make sense to use that spare room as a storage space for old furniture? Or Christmas decorations? Once again this is a good time to purge, or alternatively find a more cost effective storage space that could free up a room which is worth much more to you in office floor space, than bodega. So identify which items may be better to go into off site storage where pricing is more efficient.. Clients who choose to store long term items at our warehouse know that it’s a much more cost effective solution, and when needed, items can be retrieved at any time.
Do it yourself?
Sometimes all you need is a man with a van, and there are certainly a lot of ways those can be arranged, so if you’re just moving a couch down the street, then keeping it simple is best, if you’re planning to move a whole office worth of equipment though.. You’ll probably want to hire someone who can organize an effective move. At Dad’s we offer a bespoke moving plan to meet your company needs & objectives with zero. downtime
Hire Professionals
As with most things, you get what you pay for, and moving services are no exception. Moving is a skill, and we’ve been at it a long time. One aspect is the materials, and knowing what to use where. The second is knowing how to use them. The third is an understanding of all the moving parts, how many vans and trips, how many people. Time is money, and what you don’t want to do is waste it figuring out where to start. The goal is always to make the move as smooth as possible so that you can minimize stress, and downtime.

Case study
One of our big “Covid moves” was moving three service centers for one of the local big banks, 3,000 work stations in all, and the challenge was that we had to ensure “zero downtime”. We came up with a strategy, which involved strict scheduling broken into three modules completed over 3 separate weekends, as well as instructions disseminated to the employees on moving best practices for packing up their work stations, to streamline the workflow : No damage, no loss, and most importantly, no downtime. Moving Accomplished.
